Comfrey Heals Acne

A Great Treatment for Acne

I was listening to A Healthier You radio show today and heard this great story.  The topic of the show was comfrey and a young woman called in and said that she had been using comfrey to heal her acne with fantastic results.  She said she grows comfrey in her garden at home and will use the leaf of the plant to treat acne.  She takes the leaf and crushes it then simply applies the crushed leaf directly to the acne affected area of her face.  She holds it there for about ten minutes, then discards the leaf when she is finished.  She does this once per day whenever acne flairs up.

She said that the comfrey treatment usually cleared up any acne flair-up within a day or two and also healed the skin around the affected area.  While most acne flair-ups will result in terrible looking skin for quite some time after the flair-up has faded, she said her skin is usually flawless within a day or two.  And while serious acne will often leave scaring, she said she has not had any scarring since beginning to use comfrey to treat it.  And what scarring she had prior to the comfrey treatment has begun to fade as well.

She learned about comfrey from The School of Natural Healing (a great place to learn about herbs, by the way).   I’ve used comfrey for many things, but this is the first time I have heard of using it for acne.  I wish I had known about this while I was still in high school.  It would have saved me from many embarrassing days when the acne was at its worst.  I probably could have made a fortune selling leaves to my friends too.

As always, leave your comments below and pass this along to those who can benefit.

Thank you for your post.

I find the following to work well for me.

- Reduce intake of meals that contains carbohydrates having a high GI (glycemic index).
- Fresh fenugreek paste produced from its leaves.
- A few drops of lime or fresh lemon juice mixed into one third of a normal cup of water.
- Cucumber pulp placed onto the affected region for 15-20 minutes daily.

Actually, there is one thing that you can put on his face after cleansing with water to clear it up and that one thing is the most natural of all – Breast milk!

Your shaking your head and thinking I’m nuts but it’s true. Try it, you’ll see.

You should really look up the compounds of Breast Milk, you’ll be surprised.

All you people are recommending other things here that are more difficult than what the article recommends. I’ve tried a million things for my cystic acne but slapping on some comfrey salve before bed is the most effective and the easiest of them all. Listen to this writer. I’m also going to start eating it because it’s a nutritional powerhouse and all of that bunk about comfrey hurting your liver is outright lies.
